Treating wastewater is a necessity for protecting public health and safeguarding the environment.
This one-day course will review both conventional wastewater treatment methods and explore topics surrounding advanced wastewater treatment including effluent discharge, wastewater reuse and contaminants of emerging concern (CECs).
Some key topics include:
•Why wastewater treatment and selecting the best WWT technologies
•Importance of water and key water quality parameters
•Review of Municipal WWT and Advanced WWT processes
•Treating wastewater - effluent discharge and wastewater reuse
•Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CECs) - review basic info on CEC's and their environmental and health impacts
•Advanced Technologies for Microcontaminant (CECs) Elimination
In addition to discussing these topics, this workshop includes group activities and case study review.
